explorers (expressionists magazine, 2006)

When I desire my other half,

I place one foot in the great open sea, hoping you’ll come out to me.

And when you do, we’ll travel ‘round the world and talk of how new life can begin,

    when your tide

        rolls

            in.

So that now, years later,

With my traveling days nearly through,

Watching sunsets in the sand or walking with you,

Hand in hand will do.
